About Us
The First Robotics Team #4083
Though the tasks in team #4083 may seem scary in the beginning, we follow them through to see the final outcome. either it'd be dedication, hard work, or resourcefulness, First Team 4083 has it all ranging ranging to multiple subdivisions. There is a place for anyone on the team. We have a wide verity of personalities and characters from star athletes, drama geeks, student government officials, even students ranked on top of their classes. The allows for our students and mentors to learn from one another creating a family environment. Along with our family environment, we believe in joining arms to create a better community. This had been done through donations, a wheelchair to an impaired toddler, and donations to The Red Cross by donating half of our proceeds from our biggest fundraiser, The Glowout Concert. Additional, we also donated money to the organization known as Save The Children, Save The Children is an organization based around providing children with an education, clean drinking water, and food. along with HIV and AID's prevention medication. Our outreach efforts just don't stop there! we've held informational sessions at the College of Charleston. As well as creating nine FLL teams by participating at a charity golfing tournament. In addition, we volunteered our time to our local FLL teams 8992 and 21587, we teach them the first valuable skills need to succeed in their future careers. Our team has many things to be proud of being one of the few teams to win all of the rookie awards in their first season. Being the first high school team to successfully retrieve their payload from the Global Space Balloon Challenge. Travelling all the way to Washington D.C. to meet Senator Tim Scott and Lindsey Graham about the importance of STEM EM' FIRST and opening our own building doubling as a workshop and education center where adults and adolescents can come in and take classes to better themselves. Our organization not only focuses on FIRST Robotics, but participates in SeaPerch, the Space Balloon Challenge, and Bar Camp as well. This year we are also participating in ZeroRobotics and the Solar Car Challenge, and are working our way to competitions in Texas, Myrtle Beach, North Carolina, and Washington D.C. Each member of the team is working together to make this year the most successful yet. We have set many goals for the current school year, and are striving to do whatever it may take to accomplish them. Throughout the school year, the Iron Wolverines will host several fundraising events in order to support any needs and costs that the team might have. The most prominent fundraiser is the Glow Out, which is essentially a concert that allows students to showcase their talent before the school. The upcoming year is filled with tons of new and exciting opportunities, and the team is more than able to succeed in all of them! We may occasionally cut up and have a good time, but at the end of the day the main goal is to make a difference. First has allowed students to experience the world in a new light. |
