Full Throttle
9/5/2014
The Iron Wolverines are back at it again! As we bounce back into the school year, we are also moving full throttle into the events and projects that we have planned. In the meetings that were held this past week, the team put its focus on finding a driver for SCRIW (South Carolina Robotics Invitational and Workshop). We tested the robot by running it through an obstacle course, with the first run taking approximately 1.40 seconds. The team checked the cables of the robot after each run, and it was amazing to see how each team member worked together to make sure things ran smoothly. Although we experienced some bumps along the way, such as losing a key which held the gears of the robot together, we rallied and made sure that we accomplished the goals set in place for the week. Other members of the team worked to complete Zero Robotics, which, depending on competition rankings, would allow us to create a robot that would eventually be sent into space to collect data. The team also worked on planning events for the school year, such as the October Glow- Out, among many others. The year and the events that will make it up are beginning to fall into place, and it is up to us to come together as a team and achieve our goals. We can make Woodland history this year; we simply need the motivation and the ambition to do so.
